Last week Sunday 'Takunda' was launched in Adelaide, Australia. Takunda is a children's book written and illustrated by Zimbabwe born artist Terry MacDermot. Terry visited Zimbabwe a couple of years ago and was impressed by the work carried out for children with disabilities. He decided to use the proceeds of his first children's book 'There's a Piggy on the Loo' to support our work in Zimbabwe. Then he went on to write a children's book specifically about a child with a disability in Africa. Takunda is a young boy with a physical disability who goes on an adventure with the animals in the African bush. The story touches on the themes of disability, bullying and poaching of animals. A must have for any child! 120 guests were present at the launch which was supported by Pacific One Drop. Books are for sale to support the work of S4S with children with disabilities in Zimbabwe and beyond. Books are for sale costing £12.50 (excluding postage costs). Please email us to order a copy.
